Best period: April to end of October
Duration: 10 days, including 8 days of hiking
Level: Moderate
The starting point of our M’Goun trek is the Aït Bougmez Valley, located in the northern part of the Central High Atlas. Known for its apple orchards, walnut trees, and terraced farming, this region offers an ideal introduction to the landscapes and culture of the High Atlas. Over 8 days of trekking, we will explore the most stunning valleys of the Central High Atlas, including the Happy Valley (Aït Bougmez), the M’Goun Valley, and the Rose Valley.
This region is rich in diversity: perched villages and hidden hamlets blend into the earth-colored terrain. You’ll experience the dramatic M’Goun Gorges and summit Mount M’Goun, the highest peak in the Central High Atlas. The M’Goun Massif is also known for its vast plateaus, where Berber nomads settle with their flocks during the summer.
