We follow a mule track up to the Tizi n’Oughri pass (3,400 m), with panoramic views over the vast northern slopes of M’Goun and the Tarkeddit Plateau. We then descend for about 1.5 hours to our camp near the Tassaout springs at 2,900 m. The afternoon is free to rest. Overnight in tents.

We rise early at 4 a.m. and start hiking at 5 a.m. to ascend the long ridgeline of Ighil M’Goun, leading to the summit. From the top, we enjoy sweeping views across the Central High Atlas and southward toward the Dades Valley and the Sarhro mountains. We descend through a steep gully to reach our camp near the Oulilimt pastures.

Overnight in tents.

We leave the nomadic lands and climb to the Aït Imi Pass (2,905 m), where we are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and a last glimpse of the M’Goun massif. We descend to the Aït Imi spring, a perfect spot for lunch in the shade. After a heartfelt farewell to our mule team, we return to Marrakech by vehicle.
