M’Goun Gorge Crossing – 7-Day Adventure

7 Days

Ascent of M’Goun & Trek through the Gorges of M’Goun

Our seven-day trekking adventure in the M’Goun region of Morocco begins in the Aït Bougmez Valley, located in the northern part of the Central High Atlas Mountains. This valley is renowned for its apple and walnut orchards and beautifully terraced fields. Throughout our journey, we’ll explore stunning valleys including Arous, M’Goun, and the famous Valley of Roses.

The Central High Atlas is known for its remarkable diversity—its perched villages blend seamlessly with the surrounding earth-toned landscapes. We will experience the breathtaking M’Goun Gorges and climb Mount M’Goun, the highest summit in the Central High Atlas. The M’Goun Massif is also home to expansive summer pastures used by Berber shepherds.

Highlights of this trek include the discovery of the “Happy Valley” of Aït Bougmez, the ascent of Mount M’Goun (Morocco’s second-highest peak), admiring traditional Berber architecture, and meeting the locals of the High Atlas. We’ll also venture into the dramatic, narrow gorges of M’Goun—among the most impressive in Morocco—and encounter nomadic life up close.
